About Us
Seventeen Games is a private game company dedicated to designing intricately crafted, limited-edition experiences for discerning players. Each of our 17 artisanal creations invites you into a world where the rules may seem familiar — but the stakes are unsettlingly real. Are you playing the game, or is the game playing you? In fact, is it a game at all?
For over five generations, Seventeen Games has brought to life war games, whimsical childhood fancies, Machiavellian thrillers, irreverent time-wasters, political simulations, and party games. To commemorate our journey, all of our creations are returning in rare, limited editions.
Why did we decide to make only 17 games? That's easy. The number 17 is a Fermat prime. It’s also the name of a long-running teen fashion magazine. Culturally, it’s unlucky in Italy — due to its association with death (“VIXI”) — but lucky in Japan; while in pop culture, it echoes Mary Poppins' iconic address ("17 Cherry Tree Lane"), and is rumored to be the name of a secret organization described by some as mystical and others as criminal founded in London’s Marylebone district in 1919. And that should tell you all you need to know.
Oh, one last thing. And this is IMPORTANT. We know some of our older, intricately-crafted games are often impossible to acquire — but our newest and most mysterious collection, the Drain Teaser Quartet, is now in stock and available for pre-order at early-bird prices. And, if you can find it, there's even a special bonus discount code you can apply at checkout.
(How can you find the special discount? Well, the first thing is to notice that nearly all our games can be bundled thematically into groups of four, the Drain Teaser Quartet being the most obvious. The connections that define the other bundles are more subtle. Of course seventeen isn't easily divisible by four, so there is one game that's doesn't really bundle with the others at all. Find that game, and you're on your way!)
Regardless, welcome to Seventeen Games! We're so glad you're here. As our founder Cheri Flaneur said on her 80th birthday: What? It's my birthday?
